9:30-10:30 Workshop Session I / Taller I

    1. Health & Wellness – Breast Cancer Awareness-English
    2. Public Safety-Mesa Police Department – Spanish, “Unidos con la Comunidad” Participe con el Departamento de Policía de Mesa con el Director Asistente John Meza y su personal presenta una variedad de temas que influyen nuestras comunidades. El departamento de policía valora su relación con la comunidad latina y está dispuesto a compartir los métodos que se utilizan para enfocarse en la diversidad con el reclutamiento y empleo.  Además, aprender sobre cómo usted puede involucrarse con una variedad de servicios disponibles y los programas aplicados dentro del departamento para ayudar a su comunidad.

4. MPS Educator Workshop –  Mesa Public School educators and administrators are invited to join in this workshop focusing on effective Latino outreach strategies and Latino student success.  Workshop will be led by Dr. Mike Cowan, MPS Superintendent.

5. MCC Educator Workshop – Mesa Community College educators, administrators and staff are invited to join in this conversation about effective Latino outreach strategies and Latino student success.  Workshop will be led by Dr. Shouan Pan, MCC President.

    2. Public Safety-Mesa Police Department – English, “United with the Community” Join the Mesa Police Department as Assistant Chief Meza and his staff present a variety of topics influencing our surrounding communities.  The police department values its relationship with the Latino community and is eager to share the methods being used to focus on diversity with recruitment and hiring.  Additionally, learn about how you can become involved with a variety of services available and implemented programs within the department to help your community.
    3. Education Candidate Forum – Panel of candidates running for local educational elected officesInvitees will be updated as RSVPs are received
